How to Choose the Correct Industrial Laundry Equipment for Your Needs
|10 August 2021|
Choosing the right industrial laundry equipment is essential in order to meet your needs. There are numerous factors to take into account when planning a laundry operation. From load sizes to power availability, soiling levels, type of items being processed, washing frequency, and many others. Rather than assuming that all equipment is suitable for every type of requirement, it is far better to ensure that your industrial laundry equipment is tailored to your specific needs. This will prevent potential problems and give you the best results. Choosing the Right Industrial Laundry Equipment
You will need to ensure that machines are filled to a capacity of 75% or higher in order to avoid under loading. When machines are underloaded, there is an increased risk of mechanical parts strain as the load is not balanced. For example, a 20kg washer would require a load of at least 15kg or better still, 18kg. You also do not want to overload the machine, as you will need enough space for the load to properly wash and achieve good mechanical action.
You would need to divide the total load weight of the laundry per day by the operational hours to get a capacity per hour. You can use the following calculation as an example:
In a hotel that has 100 king-size beds / rooms, the total load per room would be roughly 6kg. This includes everything from duvet covers to bed sheets, towels, pillowcases and any other laundry. Hotel linen is typically changed every second night as an industry standard, giving you an average change of 3.5 times a week.
